Hot pot used to mean a restaurant table and a bubbling pot. Today it means a pouch on a supermarket shelf and a family dinner at home. 🍲 The base category is going retail.
Formats That Travel
Block bases (solid fat) hold flavour well but need cold-ish handling. Pouch bases (liquid/emulsion) are lighter and stack better. Both export well — the choice changes your logistics and shelf story.
| Format | Packaging | Shelf life | Angle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solid block | Box / tray | Cold or ambient | Rich, authentic |
| Liquid pouch | Pouch | Ambient 12m | Lighter freight |
| Concentrate | Small sachet | Ambient 12m | Single-serve trend |
Export Notes
- 🌶️ Heat level must be stated per scale (mild/medium/hot) — labels vary by market
- 📦 Fat solidification at ambient: confirm the spec for your destination climate
- 🏷️ Allergen matrix (sesame oil, peanut, soy) is mandatory on EU shelves
Hot pot is dinner theatre going mainstream — and the base is the star. 🎭
