# Verifying an unknown China supplier: what checks save you from a scam?

New buyers ask us constantly how to tell a real factory from a trading company — or worse, from a fraud. What checks do you run before sending a deposit?

- Do you insist on a video walk-through of the production line?
- Which documents do you verify, and how?
- What payment structure keeps you safe on a first order?

Share the red flags you look for and the single check that has saved you the most money.
