# Chicharon Private Label: Co-Packing, MOQs and Range Planning

Private label lets a retailer or brand own a chicharon line without building a frying plant. The work sits in choosing the right partner and getting the range and pack economics right before launch.

Choosing the co-packer
----------------------

Look for a facility with a proven frying line, food-safety certification and experience with your target markets. Ask about their seasoning capability, their smallest economical batch, and how they handle allergens and changeovers.

Setting MOQs that fit reality
-----------------------------

- Confirm the true minimum batch, not just the quoted one.
- Account for seasoning runs and packaging film minimums.
- Plan a launch range that shares raw material and pack sizes.

Range and pack planning
-----------------------

A tight range sells better than a sprawling one. Lead with a core flavour and pack size, then add heat variants or sharing formats once sell-through is proven. Every extra SKU carries its own minimum and its own slow-mover risk.

**Buyer tip:** freeze the approved sample and the spec together, and make them binding for repeat production.

Launch economics
----------------

Model landed cost, shelf price and promotional funding before committing. Chicharon margin can look healthy on the sample quote and thin out once freight, film and rework allowances are added.
